Unlimited Calls Product Terms
Effective 25 May 2026.
These Unlimited Calls Product Terms ("Unlimited Calls Terms") apply specifically to Blu Dot SA's VoIP-based Unlimited Calling Services and form part of the Blu Dot SA General Terms & Conditions, Acceptable Use Policy, Refund Policy and Privacy Policy. By purchasing or using any Blu Dot SA Unlimited Calls Service, the Customer agrees to these Terms.
1. Service description
- Blu Dot SA Unlimited Calls is a VoIP-based calling service that provides unlimited outbound calls to qualifying South African numbers.
- The service requires a stable internet connection (Fibre recommended), a compatible VoIP device or softphone and correct SIP configuration.
- Unlimited Calls is a best-effort service and depends on network quality, latency and device performance.
- The service is intended for personal or small-business use, not for high-volume or automated calling environments.
2. What "unlimited" means
"Unlimited" refers to reasonable, human-initiated calling within Blu Dot SA's Fair Use Policy. Unlimited Calls does not permit:
- Auto-dialers
- Call blasting
- Predictive dialers
- Call farming
- Call centres
- Bulk outbound campaigns
- Automated systems
- High-volume commercial routing
Blu Dot SA reserves the right to apply FUP controls, including throttling, suspension or termination, if usage patterns indicate abuse.
3. Supported call types
Unlimited Calls includes calls to South African mobile and landline numbers. The service excludes:
- International calls
- Premium-rated numbers
- Toll-free numbers
- Satellite numbers
- Directory services
- Short codes
These may be billed separately at standard rates.
4. Activation & setup
- Unlimited Calls is activated once payment is received, SIP credentials are provisioned and the Customer's device is verified.
- Activation details are sent via email or WhatsApp.
- Incorrect device configuration may delay activation.
5. Billing & fees
- Unlimited Calls is billed monthly in advance.
- Fees include the monthly subscription fee, a non-refundable activation fee and optional hardware fees (if applicable).
- Once activated, activation fees, the first month's subscription, courier fees (if hardware was shipped) and Blu Dot SA markups are strictly non-refundable.
- Blu Dot SA may adjust pricing with 30 days' notice.
6. Device compatibility
- The Customer must use a compatible VoIP device, softphone or router.
- Blu Dot SA is not responsible for device incompatibility, incorrect SIP settings, poor internal Wi-Fi or Customer-owned equipment failures.
- Blu Dot SA may provide recommended settings upon request.
7. Service quality & limitations
Call quality depends on internet speed, network congestion, router quality, the internal Wi-Fi environment, and latency and jitter. Blu Dot SA is not responsible for Fibre or LTE outages, Customer network issues, power failures or third-party VoIP platform outages. Unlimited Calls is a best-effort service and does not guarantee perfect call quality.
8. Fair Use Policy (FUP)
Unlimited Calls is subject to the AUP and FUP. Blu Dot SA may apply FUP controls if usage exceeds reasonable human calling patterns, resembles automated or commercial routing, impacts network integrity or violates VoIP partner rules. Blu Dot SA may suspend or terminate the service for FUP violations.
9. Number porting
- Customers may port an existing number to Blu Dot SA.
- Porting requires valid RICA documents, a completed porting form and proof of ownership.
- Porting fees may apply.
- Porting failures caused by incorrect customer information are not refundable.
10. Cancellation of Unlimited Calls Services
- Unlimited Calls Services require 30 days' written cancellation notice.
- Cancellations must be emailed to accounts@bludotsa.co.za.
- Cancellations submitted via WhatsApp, phone or social media are not accepted.
- The Customer remains liable for all fees during the 30-day notice period.
- Non-payment does not constitute cancellation.
11. Suspension & termination
Blu Dot SA may suspend or terminate Unlimited Calls Services for:
- Non-payment
- Fraudulent activity
- Automated or bulk calling
- Abuse of unlimited calling
- Illegal activity
- Network security threats
- Violation of the AUP or these Terms
