Mesh Wi-Fi Product Terms

Effective 25 May 2026.

These Mesh Wi-Fi Product Terms ("Mesh Terms") apply specifically to Blu Dot SA Mesh Wi-Fi Services and hardware and form part of the Blu Dot SA General Terms & Conditions, Acceptable Use Policy, Refund Policy and Privacy Policy. By purchasing or using any Blu Dot SA Mesh Wi-Fi Service or hardware, the Customer agrees to these Mesh Terms.

1. Service description

  • Blu Dot SA Mesh Wi-Fi ("Mesh Service") is a Wi-Fi coverage enhancement solution designed to improve wireless performance inside the Customer's premises.
  • Mesh Wi-Fi does not increase the Customer's Fibre or LTE line speed; it improves internal Wi-Fi distribution only.
  • Mesh performance depends on home layout, wall density, interference, router quality and the placement of mesh nodes.
  • Mesh Wi-Fi is a best-effort service and cannot guarantee full coverage in all environments.

2. Mesh hardware

  • Mesh hardware may be purchased outright, or provided as part of a Mesh Service package.
  • All Mesh devices are covered by manufacturer warranty only.

Warranty does not cover physical damage, water damage, power surges, incorrect installation or Customer tampering. Blu Dot SA is not responsible for hardware failures caused by Customer-owned routers or internal wiring.

3. Installation & setup

  • Mesh installation may be self-installed by the Customer, or installed by a Blu Dot SA technician (where available).

The Customer must ensure:

  • Adequate power points
  • Safe placement of devices
  • A stable Fibre or LTE connection
  • Correct router configuration

Blu Dot SA may provide recommended placement guidelines but cannot guarantee perfect coverage.

4. Billing & fees

Mesh Wi-Fi may include:

  • Once-off hardware purchase
  • Monthly Mesh Service fee (if applicable)
  • Installation fee (if technician installation is requested)

The following fees are strictly non-refundable once hardware is delivered or installed:

  • Hardware purchase price
  • Courier fees
  • Installation fees
  • Blu Dot SA markups

Monthly Mesh Service fees are billed in advance. Blu Dot SA may adjust pricing with 30 days' notice.

5. Performance limitations

Mesh Wi-Fi improves internal coverage but cannot:

  • Fix Fibre or LTE network issues
  • Increase line speed
  • Overcome severe structural interference
  • Guarantee full coverage in multi-story or reinforced buildings

Blu Dot SA is not responsible for poor performance caused by Customer-owned routers, interference from appliances, neighbours or building materials, or ISP / FNO outages.

6. Support & troubleshooting

Support is available via support@bludotsa.co.za, WhatsApp support (079 174 1362) or +27 87 164 2154.

Support includes basic troubleshooting, placement recommendations, device resets and firmware guidance. Support does not include internal wiring repairs, home network redesign, third-party device support or on-site visits unless booked and billed separately.

7. Customer responsibilities

The Customer must:

  • Use Mesh devices as intended
  • Keep devices powered on
  • Maintain a stable internet connection
  • Ensure safe placement of equipment
  • Protect devices from damage

8. Cancellation of Mesh Service

  • If Mesh Wi-Fi includes a monthly service fee, it requires 30 days' written cancellation notice.
  • Cancellations must be emailed to accounts@bludotsa.co.za.
  • Cancellations submitted via WhatsApp, phone or social media are not accepted.
  • The Customer remains liable for all fees during the 30-day notice period.
  • Hardware purchases are non-refundable after delivery.

9. Suspension & termination

Blu Dot SA may suspend or terminate Mesh Services for:

  • Non-payment
  • Abuse or tampering
  • Network security threats
  • Violation of the AUP or these Mesh Terms

10. Liability limitations

  • Blu Dot SA is not liable for internal Wi-Fi interference, Customer equipment failures, building structure limitations, power outages, or ISP or FNO outages.
  • Blu Dot SA's liability is limited to the monthly Mesh Service fee (if applicable).
